How to find us

Yorkshire Natural History Museum is a five-minute walk from the historic Rivelin Valley Park and next to the river Loxley, a known fossil hunting locality for Carboniferous fossils.

By car: 

  • Malin Bridge Park and Ride Car Park (2 minute walk) 
  • Park and ride is available at Halfway, Middlewood, and Meadowhall.  
  • Towsure Car Park (2 minute walk)
  • On-Road Parking for 2 Hours (<1 minute walk)

By tram: 

  • Malin Bridge Tram Stop (2 minute walk)
  • Hillsborough Tram Stop (5 minute walk) 
  • Both Blue and Yellow lines are accessible.

By bus: 

  • Holme Lane/Loxley New Road Stop (2 minute walk) 
  • 81 and 82 calls at the City Centre every 30 minutes 61 and 62 calls at Stannington and Bradfield every hour.

Due to the Edwardian age of the building, access to the gallery is limited to a staircase. 

The Yorkshire Natural History Museum was first opened to the public on 13th August 2022.
