Halloween is here at Eureka! The National Children's Museum this October half-term, and there's heaps of fun to be had for the family!
Here's what's taking place this year:
- SCRAPtastic: A family-friendly craft session using junk and recycled materials to take home as Halloween crafts. (21st to 25th of October and 28th of October to 1st of November)
- Dragon Experiences: Baby dragons are arriving at Eureka! Tame these magnificent creatures and let your imagination take flight! (21st to 25th of October and 28th of October to 1st of November)
- Room on the Broom Storytime Sessions: Step into a world where children don't just listen to a story - they participate! Fly into a world of interactive fun with Julia Donaldson's beloved tale. Book at the information desk on arrival. (Weekends 19th of October to 3rd of November)
- Autumn Sensory Play: The perfect activity for under 5's, little explorers are encouraged to connect with the world around them through interactive activities! (19th of October to 3rd of November)
- Simbrix Frights & Fireworks: Participate in two engaging themed exhibitions as kids can create, make and take away their Halloween Simbrix creations. (29th of October to 2nd of November)
Halloween activities are included in general admission, with the exception of Room on the Broom Storytime Sessions, which you can book at the information desk on arrival. Fancy dress is encouraged!

By car:
Eureka! The National Children's Museum is in Halifax, which is about halfway between Leeds and Manchester. Leave the M62 at jct 24, follow A629 to Halifax, then follow brown tourist signs to Eureka! You can find the site via Sat-Nav at the postcode HX1 2NE.
By bus:
Eureka! The National Children's Museum is a 5-minute walk from Halifax bus station. It can be reached via bus directly from Bradford (35 mins), Huddersfield (35 mins) and Leeds (1 hour).
By train:
Eureka! is right next door to Halifax railway station, served by regular trains from Leeds, Huddersfield and Manchester. It can be reached via train from Bradford (15 mins), Huddersfield (25 mins), Leeds (35 mins), Manchester (50 mins) and York (1 hour 10 mins).
