Watch the lemurs jump around in joy, the tortoises slowly trotting away, the cheeky meerkats popping up from the ground and the funny-looking alpacas with their fluffy long necks.

Meet the most extraordinary animals with these family things to do in York
- At the very start of your journey, you'll come face to face with a host of marvelous mammals.
- Meerkats, otters, lemurs and skunks will all be eager to welcome you, as well as the 'down on the farm' section, where you'll also meet some sheep, goats and alpacas.
- Take a wander by the arboretum and meet the adorable raccoon dogs. Also known in Japan as Tanuki, they are seen as spiritual creatures in ancient folklore and are even said to shapeshift! While they may seem mischievous, they're not nearly as so as the marmosets and tamarins just around the corner. It's easy to spend ages watching them go about their monkey business of playing and climbing around their enclosures.
- Hop on over to the wallaby enclosure and say g'day to the troupe of Bennett’s wallabies who call the park their home, before you take flight to the aviaries where you can see birds from budgies to parrots.
- There's also an indoor zone dedicated to the other many wild animals of the park, including tortoises, turtles, tropical fish, frogs, iguanas, snakes, armadillos and sugar gliders.
So much more than just a zoo!
There's so many more things to see and do in the park! You'll see even more wild and wonderful creatures on your journey to Askham Bryan Wildlife and Conservation Park.
Book your tickets today and embark on an adventure into the wild like no other!
