Intermediate surfing with Newquay Activity Centre

Are you ready to raise your surfing game? The Intermediate Surf Lessons will do just that. The three-hour, group sessions are perfect if you’ve already completed a Beginner Surf Lesson or have tried surfing a few times before and want to take your skills to the next level.

With the Newquay surf lessons, The Newquay Activity Centre team offer an exhilarating surfing lesson aimed at intermediate surfers, focusing on all the essentials including ocean awareness and those must-have technical skills.

From popping up consistently and paddling more efficiently to choosing the right wave once you’re out back, this is the class you won’t want to skive. 

What to expect on your intermediate surf session:

• Allocation of equipment, wetsuit, and surfboard at the surf school
• Changing rooms, lock box for valuables, showers, insurance
• 3 hours from arrival to departure to enjoy your surfing lesson
• Assessment of ocean conditions
• Beach safety talk
• Familiarisation with surfing terminology
• A lively warm-up on one of Newquay’s stunning beaches
• Introduction to board handling
• Introduction to prone riding Jumping up, accelerating, and stopping safely

How does it work?

The Intermediate Surfing Lessons will get you even more addicted to this thrilling sport than you already are! You’ll get a recap of the basics, from beach safety to stand-up surfing. 

The team will make sure you’re kept toasty-warm in a Rip Curl wetsuit, which you’ll put on in our heated changing rooms along with an ID vest. They also have lockers to keep your clothes and valuables safely stored while you’re out on the water. 

For your Newquay surf lesson, you'll head down to one of the towns amazing beaches for the lesson, the favourites are Fistral or Great Western beach – it’s a beautiful and sheltered gold sand beach with waves for all abilities.

The team use premium quality foam surfboards for our Intermediate Surfing Lessons as they offer the most stable platform for progressing your skills!
