Built between 1576 and 1585 by merchant Robert Wynn, Plas Mawr (or Great Hall), is widely regarded as the finest surviving Elizabethan townhouse in all of Britain.
Using his fortune, Wynn turned the house into a celebration of his life and wealth. Step inside to see the true scale of Plas Mawr's grandiosity and how it offers a deep insight into wealthy Elizabethan life like no other building. Outside the house, you'll find the striking Elizabethan Garden, which has been extensively restored to its original glories.
