How To Find Us
By car:
By far the easiest way to get to Exmoor Zoo is by car.
For car satellite navigation the post code is EX31 4SG.
The zoo is situated along the A399 mid-way between Combe Martin and South Molton.
Once you leave the North Devon link road (the A361) it is exactly 10 miles along on the left-hand side of the A399.
This route approach on the A399 will take you past the granite quarries and Brayford.
Brown tourist signs will direct you to the lane turning off the A399. The zoo is then 1/4 a mile down this lane.
If you approach from the coast of North Devon the exact position is between Bratton Fleming and Exmoor Gate on the A399. Again, brown tourist signs will direct you to us.
By Train:
The nearest train station to the zoo is Barnstaple.
Onward travel to the zoo would have to be by bus from the central Barnstaple bus depot or by taxi.

Exmoor Zoo is on a gentle slope. It is positioned on the side of a south west facing valley. The average gradient is 1 in 12, although two short steep slopes (1 in 5) are to be found in the grounds.
At least 65% of all paths are laid to tarmac for ease of wheelchair and push chair access and level paths exist between the gentle slopes. All other paths are laid to scree.
The paths turn to scree at the lower section of the zoo furthest away from the entrance and the use of manual wheelchairs in this area is not advisable. These paths can be adequately accessed by electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Yes! The Zoo has lovely designated picnic areas for you to enjoy what you bring with you.
Assistance dogs are allowed but unfortunately due to the nature of the attraction, dogs are not welcome.
Yes! The café opens at 10.00am for drinks and snacks. Hot food service begins at 11.30 – 2.30pm. Take away food and drinks are available and an outside open-air patio.
Exmoor Zoo is home to the “Exmoor Beast” Bagheera the black panther. You can also observe the puma, cheetah, maned wolves, monkeys and lots of other rare animals like tamandua, fishing cats, tapir, singing dogs and binturong!
