What to expect at Canonteign Falls:
- Beautiful Waterfalls – A series of waterfalls have been a feature of the Canonteign Estate for generations, Lady Exmouth falls steals the show with its 70m single drop into ancient woodland.
- The Victorian Fern Garden is a magnificent example of the Victorian obsession with ferns. This special garden is tucked away in a hanging valley, high above the Estate. Look out for the fairies and willow dinosaurs in this Jurassic landscape.
- Tranquil lakes - Lily Lake sits in the centre of the site, surrounded by rhododendrons. It’s home to some spectacular waterlilies and an abundance of wildlife including ducks, Canada geese and kingfishers.
- Relaxing walks - There are many pathways weaving through Canonteign’s 90 acres of ancient woodland and meadows, perfect for you to create your own favourite walks.
- Adventure playgrounds - The Children’s Play Areas include a huge wooden galleon, the “Indefatigable”, named after the previous Estate owner’s most famous ship, climbing frames, swings, slides and trampoline’s, promising hours of fun against a dramatic woodland back drop.
- Zip Wire and Mini Assault Course - The 30m zip wire is a firm favourite with younger visitors. Zoom through the air on this flying fun adventure! Combine this with a timed race around the mini assault course where you can practise your climbing, swinging and balancing skills on the various obstacles on offer.
- Paved Labyrinth - Seven paved rings have been set into the grass overlooking the Devon countryside in it’s centre is a mirror disc Torus reflects the countryside. Children love to explore its pathways and run around its rings to make it to the centre.

Yes! Dogs on leads are welcome inside and out
Yes! Picnics are welcome but camping stoves and BBQs are not permitted on the estate.
The route to the top of the waterfall takes you on a magical journey but it's steep and uneven in places so please wear suitable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. There are alternative walks should the waterfall walk feel too ambitious.
Canonteign falls are operating as card-only, so if you are planning on enjoying the cafe or shop, please make sure you bring a suitable payment method with you.
