Located on the River Dee in Llangollen, Denbighshire, are some of the best Whitewater activities that North Wales has to offer, perfect for family, friends and corporate events.
Whitewater Active are proud to introduce the unique and exciting sport of White Water River Bugs! This activity is a great introduction to the world of bugging and whitewater.
River Bugs are small, unique inflatable crafts with an inflatable tube at each side and an inflatable back rest.
After you're suited up and briefed about safety, you'll hop on board and sit upright between the tubes - or for a truly unique and thrilling adventure, put the backrest down to enjoy the scenery whilst lying down on your front!
You will also be given swim mitts, and these will be your method of steering whilst navigating the exhilarating rapids of the River Dee.
About your adventure:
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Availability: Seven days a week, April to October
- Location: Llangollen
- Session times: 9:00am or 1:00pm
This adventure is for you if you're:
- Minimum age: 12 years old. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult (18+)
- Maximum weight: 120kg
What to bring:
- Lace up trainers (NO beach shoes, open toes, sandals or crocs)
- Swimwear
- Shorts (To wear over your wetsuit)
- Towel

As you enter Llangollen from the A539, turn left over the bridge onto Castle Street.
Take the first left onto Bridge Street.
Continue for a short distance and you'll find the property on the right-hand side.
By train:
Although direct train services to Llangollen are no longer available, you can use a mix of train and bus travel from various points of travel throughout the UK.
Nearby train stations include:
- Chirk Station, located five miles away.
- Berwyn Station, found along the A5 to the right when coming from Llangollen Town.
- Glyndyfrdwy Station, located off the A5 road west of Llangollen.
- Corwen Station, easily accessible from various directions.
