More About Waddesdon

Waddesdon Manor House and Garden is a breathtaking masterpiece of Victorian art and architecture nestled in the heart of the English countryside.

Waddesdon Manor was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885, to display his collection of arts and to entertain his friends. It is now open to the public and it welcomes thousands of visitors each year who come to appreciate the exceptional architecture, art collections and gardens.

The Manor is managed by the Rothschild Foundation, a family charitable trust, on behalf of the National Trust, who took over ownership in 1957. It’s home to the Rothschild Collections of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts.

The gardens at Waddesdon Manor are equally impressive, boasting sweeping lawns, colourful borders, and ornamental lakes that reflect the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
