How To Find Us
By Car:
Please note: Go Ape is not signposted until you are at the entrance to Haldon Forest Park itself.
From the North: There are 4 main roads that lead to the A38 to Plymouth which has the exit sign to"Haldon Forest" (and Go Ape!) M5 Southbound (becomes the A38), A377 (from Barnstaple, which joins the A30), A30 (from Okehampton, joins the A38), A379 (from Countess Wear and joins the A38 at Kennford)
Ensure you are on the A38 to Plymouth when the road splits into the A380 (Torquay) and the A38 Plymouth. The road becomes a steep hill with three lanes.
Ensure you are in the left hand lane before the top of the hill as the turn off at the "Haldon Forest" & Exeter racecourse"(and Go Ape!) sign has no slip road and is a very sharp left turn.
At the mini roundabout turn right and head past the entrance to Exeter racecourse, underneath an underpass and straight on for over a mile. Turn left into Haldon Gateway.
From the South: There are 2 main roads from the South: A380 (from Torquay) A38 (from Plymouth/Cornwall)
From the A380 northbound you will find an exit sign to "Haldon Forest & Exeter racecourse" (and Go Ape!) just before a service station. Follow this road straight (sign posted Haldon Gateway) over a mini roundabout, past the entrance to Exeter racecourse, underneath an underpass and straight on for over a mile. Turn left into Haldon Gateway.
By Bus:
The 360 bus from Exeter Bus Station to Bridford stops at Haldon Belvedere several times a day (except Sundays and Bank Holidays). Please see the Traveline timetable for times or phone Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.
You can then join the trails through the woods, from the layby. It's a fair walk from there, so you may want to consider getting a taxi or uber.
