Launched in the summer of 2023, Go Ape Blackburn is a thrill-seekers paradise for young explorers.
Perfect for little explorers on their first high ropes adventure, these hour-long adventures are packed to the brim with with tricky tree-to-tree crossings, zip lines and more.
There are two different tree top adventures to enjoy at Go Ape Blackburn:
- Treetop Adventure: An entry level high ropes activity for young adventurers. Suitable for anyone over 1m tall and aged between 4-6 years old.
- Treetop Adventure Plus: A trickier and taller course for older children. Suitable for anyone over 1.2m tall and aged between 6-10 years old.
Things to do in Witton Country Park:
Located in Blackburn, Witton Country Park is a picturesque 480-acre estate filled with picnic spots, walks, nature trails, play areas and a visitor centre that provides an ideal day out for the whole family.
Witton Country Park is also the starting point of 'Weaver's Way', a 32-mile long walking trail that passes landmarks such as the Grade II listed Silk Hall, Pleasington Priory and weaver's cottages. Prepare to spot reservoirs, valleys, woodland and views along the Pennine Moors.

Treetop Adventure - Go Ape Blackburn
Start your high ropes journey on the Treetop Adventure course at Go Ape Blackburn. Suitable for anyone over 1m tall and between 4-6 years old.
Treetop Adventure Plus - Go Ape Blackburn
Take your adventure to the next level with the Treetop Adventure Plus in Go Ape. Suitable for anyone over 1.2m tall and aged between 6-10 years old.

How to find us
By car:
Use the post code BB2 2TP for Witton Country Park to navigate to the site. It brings you to the main leisure centre car park. The Go Ape cabin is nearby and easily visible.
By bus:
The nearest bus stop is a 7-minute walk from the Go Ape cabin on Old Preston Road. The 152-hotline bus makes this stop. Alternatively, the 81 stops at Witton Park High School, which is a 13-minute walk from the cabin.
By train:
Cherry Tree train station is a 16-minute walk from the Go Ape cabin. Alternatively, Mill Hill train station is a 20-minute walk and is on the Norther trainline.
- Paid parking
Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.
Wear sensible clothes for adventure and please ensure your midriff is covered.
Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.
Go Ape is an excellent wet weather activity! The course remains open in all weathers, except when it is icy, stormy, in high winds or during lightning.
Rain makes the course muddier than usual – which all adds to the fun! Don’t forget to dress for the weather. Sometimes, unfortunately, Go Ape might need to close the course for reasons beyond our control, if this happens you will be given a full refund.
Please ensure you arrive for your Go Ape activity 15 minutes before your session begins.

All courses are designed to be accessible, but they do offer a degree of physical and mental challenge. This may mean additional equipment or adjustments to supervision.
