What else is on at Glasgow Music City Tours?

Explore the best of the past and present of Glasgow's music scene with the Music Mile Tour

From the Royal Concert Hall to King Tut's via the Conservatoire, the Music Mile tour is a whistle-stop guide around Glasgow City Centre, an area teeming with music venues past and present.

Hear tales from the heyday of the late, lamented Apollo; check out the home of Celtic Connections and marvel at the many successful bands that started out at King Tut's.

Finishing at the famous venue, this tour includes the opportunity to follow in the early footsteps of Oasis, Blur, and the Manic Street Preachers. Depending on access, you may have the chance to stand under the lights at King Tut's and grab a selfie on the stage that helped launch so many great acts.

The Music Mile tour is a great way to see what makes Glasgow's music scene tick as you explore a city rich in both musical myths and scuzzy backroom stages where the next generation of guitar heroes are paying their dues.

Each Glasgow tour covers approximately a mile and a half (2.4 kilometres). They last around two hours, sometimes a little longer, and you will be walking for the majority of the tour. There are some stairs and, especially on the Music Mile tour, some inclines.

Comfortable, flat shoes are highly recommended for the Glasgow City Music Tours.

The guides are good at finding sheltered spots en route but warm and waterproof clothing is recommended for the tour.

The Glasgow tours take roughly two hours, sometimes two and a quarter.

Glasgow City Music Tours always aims to take tour guests inside certain venues but cannot always guarantee it. Band load-ins, sound checks, and filming are out of the guide's control, and can sometimes prevent you from gaining access to venues.

Yes, the guides will happily help with taking any pictures should you require it. There will also be plenty of selfie opportunities along the way.

Children aged five and over are welcome on the Merchant City Tour. Due to licensing laws, the tour can only take children aged 14 or older on the Music Mile tours.
