After taking in two goats from the RSPCA, Robert Hitch established Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats shortly after, in 1989. Before long, injured goats began arriving in such numbers that the charitable status was sought in order to secure the long term future of the Sanctuary - and now, you're invited to meet the friendly residents!

"Lovely couple of hours spent relaxing amongst all the goats. The atmosphere is wonderful and you could honestly sit and watch them all day. Will happily come back with friends/family!"

Enjoy the Goat Keeper Experience with Buttercup Goat Sanctuary

With almost 1,000 goats rescued and around 120 goats staying onsite, Buttercup Goat Sanctuary invites you to get up-close with the residents in the Goat Keeper Experience:

  • Take the unique opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to care for over a hundred goats
  • See what makes the Sanctuary tick as you go behind-the-scenes of the friendly farm
  • The morning begins at 8am (please be prompt as goats like their routine!)

  • Walking: Join the herd of humans and goats and embark upon a wonderful walking adventure around the beautiful farm.
  • Enjoy an amazing experience for families, animal lovers and goat enthusiasts!

"I just love sitting, petting the very happy goats. If you are ever stressed, it is the biggest stress reliver ever! Love that everything you spend money on will go towards looking after the goats. I will be visiting as often as possible."
