Known for its spectacular beaches, historic castles, and picturesque harbour towns, this county just oozes history and culture.

And it's got enough activities to suit just what you're looking for, whether it's an adventurous thrill-seeking holiday or a quiet and relaxing trip.

We put together this itinerary on things to do in Pembrokeshire to help you make the most of your trip and take the stress out of the planning. One thing's for sure - this won’t be your last trip to this beautiful part of Wales.

Monday

Begin your trip in the medieval town of Pembroke with a trip to the castle at the heart of the town.

Pembroke Castle was the birthplace of Henry Tudor and it's still largely intact with lots of interactive activities, displays, and exhibitions for families to enjoy.

With the millpond surrounding it, the castle's true beauty is something that needs to be seen. There are plenty of tunnels, passageways, towers, and a dungeon to explore as you feel the history vibrating from the walls.

Pop to the Cornstore for lunch - we recommend one of their delicious soups or even a gooey brownie. Sit outside with a beautiful view of the castle and millpond - the perfect spot to soak up the sun.

There are also rowing boats for hire from Paddle West, right below the castle which allows you to enjoy a leisurely trip along the water.

Grab a kayak, rowing boat, or paddleboard and enjoy one of the most picturesque trips where even those with no experience will have a fab time.

Tuesday

A trip to Pembrokeshire would not be complete without a trip to the beautiful walled seaside town of Tenby. It's easy to see why it's one of the most popular seaside resorts in West Wales.

Head into the town and see the streets laced with boutique shops and traditional Welsh pubs where you’re bound to fall in love with the locals' accents.

Grab an ice cream and head down to the harbour. The views from here are utterly gorgeous and the famous pastel-coloured houses will have you snapping pics all day long.

There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, and cafes for you to choose from.

Be sure to try a traditional Welsh dish while you're here - maybe a light snack like Welsh cakes or bara brith. Or maybe you want to really get the full experience? Tuck into a delicious bowl of hearty lamb cawl or Welsh rarebit—we're sure you won’t be disappointed.

Wednesday

For a mid-week treat, head to Folly Farm where you'll make friends with giraffes, lions, rhinos, and many more exciting and exotic animals.

With over 750 animals as well as a vintage funfair, set on 120 acres of Pembrokeshire countryside, it's a great place to visit in any type of weather.

Maybe you’d love the chance to get up close and feed a giraffe, lion or meet a rhino? Or perhaps the rides in the vintage funfair have caught your eye? Whatever you choose to do, we know Folly Farm won’t disappoint.

An afternoon in Saundersfoot

After all your fun at the farm, take the ten-minute drive to Saundersfoot. Another charming seaside town, it's bound to surprise you with spectacular views.

Head to St Brides Hotel and treat yourself to afternoon tea out on the patio to revel in the picturesque views.

You'll love tucking into the deliciously fresh scones with jam and cream, or maybe you're a chocolate lover and your mouth is already watering thinking of the scrumptious chocolate mousse.

Walk back down the hill into the harbour and you'll discover plenty of boutique shops, perfect if you're looking for a gift, and lots of pubs along the front where you can grab a refreshing drink.

Walk through the town or along the beach and through the tunnels for just over a mile and you'll arrive at Wiseman’s Bridge.

The Wiseman's Bridge Inn is a gorgeous pub, where you can tuck into a hearty meal while sitting outside, so you don’t have to stop taking in the breathtaking views.

Thursday

Today is a day for sightseeing and adventure.

Begin your day with a trip to Bosherston Lily Ponds where you can spot incredible wildlife, such as beautiful birds, swans, and even otters as you walk around the lakes. The best time to see the waterlilies here is in June and July, but we think the ponds are gorgeous all year around regardless.

Take a peaceful walk around the area and either head to the fabulous Broadhaven South beach or check out some of the several shorter (and equally as beautiful!) circular walks.

If you stumble across Bosherston Tea Rooms on your travels, be sure to pop in and pick up a homemade cake - they've been serving the people of Pembrokeshire for nearly a century!

Hollywood meets Pembrokeshire

After you've refueled at the tea rooms, we'd definitely recommend jumping in the car and heading to Freshwater West beach.

You might just recognise this place from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films as well as Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood featuring Russell Crowe. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then head to Dobby’s grave, a shrine made by fans that you'll easily find in the dunes.

Dobby’s Shell Cottage, which was originally built on the beach for filming is no longer there, but you can still walk in the footsteps of Harry, Ron, and Hermoine and imagine the magic that took place here back in 2010.

Friday

For your final day, we thought we'd treat you to some great Welsh food, amazing scenery, and fascinating history.

Head to Abereiddy to start your last day in the area and visit the Blue Lagoon. This former slate quarry, where the water is a beautiful deep blue colour, is now world-famous for watersports.

You might recognise it as a backdrop to the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, where some super impressive stunts have been performed. When you visit, there’s a chance you can watch some daredevils practising their stunts too. Admire the breathtaking view or maybe get stuck in with a spot of kayaking or coasteering in this beautiful area?

The perfect end to a busy week

Drive less than 15 minutes to St David's and visit the smallest city in Britain. St Davids feels like a seaside village, thanks to its quaint and characteristic charming features.

Home to the amazing St David’s Cathedral, it really is worth a couple of hours exploring the area. Walk through the streets and wander into the charming cafes, galleries, and boutique shops.

To finish off your trip, make your way to St Davids Gin & Kitchen, and tuck into a delicious meal made with quality sourced ingredients from local farmers and fishermen.

There’s a wide range of yummy Welsh meals on the menu and there really is no better way to end your week. We recommend the St David’s Rum Dark Chocolate Fondant with ice cream to finish off your meal.
