Between November and throughout December, Tredegar House is transformed into a quintessential retreat where you’ll uncover some unique treasures.

There are state rooms, below stairs kitchens and servant’s areas to roam and you'll truly be  able to imagine yourselves living day-to-day in this spectacular house.

Especially when it’s decorated with gorgeous Christmas knick-knacks and traditional decorations, the beauty of the historic house cannot be underestimated.

Christmas trees are adorned with twinkling lights in almost every room, and you’ll also see the formal gardens and outdoor trees dressed in a variety of Christmas decorations including baubles and lanterns.

Christmas events galore

A calendar full of festive fun is planned for Christmas 2021 at Tredegar House. Whether visiting on your own, as a family, or a couple on a date, you’ll find a Christmas activity to enjoy.

Newport’s first zero-waste shop has opened at Tredegar House, finding its home in the grounds of the house, and nestled in the lesser barn.

The National Trust is a conservation charity, so while visiting and enjoying the seasonal festivities you can take steps to help the environment this Christmas.

You’ll have a chance to refill soap, shampoo and shower gel bottles and learn more about how to reduce the amount of waste created by shopping.

There’s also a second-hand bookshop to give old books a new home.

We recommend pulling up a pew and sipping some hot chocolate at the Brewhouse café, where you’ll be debating what delicious cake to go for.
