Step back in time at Tudor World for a family day out in Stratford-upon-Avon
Tudor World stands as a distinctive and quaint independent museum housed within an original Tudor property nestled in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. As the sole museum in the country dedicated to the Tudor era, it distinguishes itself by eschewing artefacts and period furniture in favor of immersive recreations depicting various aspects of Tudor life.
These exhibits are intertwined with captivating narratives detailing the rich history of the building itself, which traces its origins back to the birth of the town in the late 12th century, as well as the broader history of Stratford upon Avon. Situated along the only remaining cobbled street in Stratford, the museum's very location exudes historical charm
This living history museum brings to life the sights, sounds, and stories of the past in an authentic recreation of the time of Tudors. Whether it's the six wives of the infamous Henry the Eighth, the prosecutions of Bloody Mary, the "golden age" of Elizabeth I's reign or the emergence of William Shakespeare's plays, Tudor World covers all aspects of life in the Tudor ages.

Due to the great age of this grade 2+ listed property, which has uneven floors, steep steps and stairs, some of the property may be difficult for anyone with reduced mobility to access – in particular the stairs and the cobbled courtyard.
However, access to the ground floor is available, for which ramps have been fitted and the upper floor may be accessed if mobility is not too severe but requires some assistance. Similarly assistance up the cobbles is available.
Guide/Assistance dogs as well as family pets are welcome (free of charge).
There are a number of long and short-stay car parks throughout the town. There is parking on-road (subject to availability) on Sheep Street itself, which is free after 6pm. There are two Disabled Parking areas at the rear of the building in the service yard behind Wetherspoons.
Due to the age of the building and limited space available, it is not practical for prams and pushchairs during visit to the museum. However, they can be stored for no charge while you visit the museum.
