By car:
There are many public car parks and public transport links near and inside the station. We suggest you leave plenty of time for travel when planning your journey to the station, as public transport and parking locations can be very busy in Edinburgh around Christmas time.

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride will depart from Edinburgh Waverley Station, EH1 3EG, with the check in point being located on Platform 2.
As in the spirit of the book and the film, guests are encouraged to wear pyjamas, with a dressing gown for good measure!
For the safety of guests, you are recommended to wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and not slippers, open-toed shoes, flip-flops etc.
The experience can last between one and a half to two hours in total. You will be on board the train for approximately an hour.
Please be careful when onward planning, especially if you plan to take a train home after the event. Should a delay happen whilst on board or before the train departure, this could increase the train ride duration.
Due to the design of the heritage coaches, THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is unable to accommodate wheelchairs.
If the wheelchair user is able to climb a step, and walk a short distance, then the staff can assist in boarding. Wheelchairs will be transferred to the arrival station ready for when you get off.
Dogs and other animals are not allowed on board. Service dogs are welcome, but will need to sit under the table for the duration of the journey.
Therapy Dogs/Emotional Support Dogs or other animals are not allowed on board THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride.
Bags are allowed, but all bags will be subject to searches. Large bags, rucksacks and suitcases will not be allowed on board.
