At the foot of the South Downs National Park, under the treetops of a 50-acre woodland, you’ll find the paint-splattered battlegrounds of South Coast Paintball.  

The battlefield awaits

You might not know it just yet, but you’ll be thankful for all those trees when the games begin – they provide some of the best cover when the opposite team is trying to shoot you.  

First thing’s first though, you need to pick which game mode you want to play. To help you out, the team at South Coast Paintball have a selection to pick from, so you can hop right into the action.  

There are a few takes on the classic capture the flag game mode, all of which are firm favourites among paintballers.  

In The Bridge, it’s up to you and your team to grab the flag at the centre of the battlefield and take it into your opponent’s base. Whereas in The Barricade Field, you’ve got to capture the opposition’s flag from their base while keeping your own safe.  

When it’s all over and time is up, if you’re in control of the flag, the victory is yours! 

Games for the younger ones

Getting hit by paintballs might not be for everyone, that’s where the live laser games come in handy. Instead of firing paintballs, lasers are your ammunition in this game.  

Your battlefield will be just as wild and wonderful. No bullets however, means no masks.  

You’ll have full range of vision to spot any enemy that might be lurking in your peripherals. Just be sure to aim true, or by the time you get a second try, you might’ve already been hit! 

Ages of ten and above can participate in the paintball and laser games, but don’t worry if you’ve got anyone slightly younger who’s keen on joining in: the Kids Mini Splat Paintball sessions are for ages eight to ten. 

The bullets are lower impact, and geared up with head shields and goggles, everything is just that extra bit safer.
