A calming escape from the nearby hustle and bustle of vibrant Liverpool lies the majestic Sefton Meadows.
Consisting of three stunning areas, this woodland adventure is a sensational experience.
Step into nature
A relaxed atmosphere surrounds the woodlands, filled with only nature to listen to.
You'll admire the beautiful trees that guide you along the paths as you listen to the singing birds welcoming you to their home.
Picturesque forest walks
Sefton Meadows is made up of Jubilee Woods, Roughleys Wood, and Brooms Cross, all beautiful sights to see, with a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees.
Be sure to spot the incredible Barn Owl sculpture in Jubilee Woods - a wonderful spot for a family selfie!
The 51 owl-themed acres are a peaceful spot to unwind with a magnificent path running around the outside shaped like a barn owl.
We suggest visiting around dusk to see if you spot any impressive barn owls yourself.
You’ll love listening to the sounds they make – it’s a magical experience, so pack a blanket and take it all in with loved ones.
Even more to discover
Short-eared owls are also popular at Roughleys Wood which borders Lunt Meadows nature reserve.
Take a pair of binoculars for you to capture every detail, not missing a moment of the picture-perfect landscape.
Perhaps you're up for a longer walk? The Trans Pennine Trail runs through Sefton Meadows, so we recommend spending a few moments soaking it all up before getting back to walking.
Starting to feel peckish?
You're bound to have worked up an appetite by now. Can you think of anywhere better to tuck into some delicious sandwiches than being surrounded by nature at its best?
Reward yourself with a flask of delicious coffee to boost your energy.
Sit around and discuss all the beauty you’ve seen. We’re sure the conversation will continue throughout your trip home, too.
A marvellous day out for everyone
Whichever path you choose to follow, Sefton Meadows will leave its mark as a special place in your heart.
It won’t be long until you’re back exploring the picturesque woods.
