Things to do at Parc Glynllifon

A sprawling park filled with filming locations and shops, a historic manor house, an agricultural college and a rich history of royalty, Parc Glynllifon is filled with things to do with your family, connecting people of all ages to North Wales' nature:

• Children's Grove: Celebrate Welsh children's writing with sculptures, play areas and storytelling hollows
• The Steam Engine: Renovated in the 1980s, see one of the oldest working steam engines in Britain
• Glanrafon Mill: Originally a flour mill, a turbine was installed in 1915 to generate electricity for the house and estate
• The Boathouse: Used by the third Lord Newborough's children, the tiny tower houses a miniature privy
• Plas Glynllifon: Considered the finest Regency mansion in North Wales, the Grade I Listed building was built over 150 years ago!
• 'Cromlech' Stone Structure: A folly based on Celtic megaliths
• Cilmyn Blackfoot: According to legend, the Glynllifon's descended from this semi-mythological figure in the 9th Century
• The Children's Mill: Another favourite folly of Lord Newborough's nine children 
• The Hermitage: A chapel for holding funerals for the family's pets - today, there lies a circle of Yew trees signifying the pet cemetary's location
• The Ampitheatre: Celebrate the work of modern playwrights with open-air events on the estate's Yew tree island
• Caves and Grottoes: See the 19th Century fashionable grotto as it stands out amongst the informal gardens
• 'Gwerin Y Graith' Art Installation: Inspired by the Welsh novelists raised in the nearby slate-quarrying communities
• Fountain: See the only working fountain from a classical series of three built in the 1840s
• 'Coed Y Teras' Walkway: The Lesser Horseshoe bats who roosts in the mansion cellars use this path to forage at night
