Essential to Spain's cultural and political history, Copla songs channel the queer and migrant experiences in Spain's early musicals. Serving as a political tool against repression, Copla helped out the community during Franco's dictatorship, and later the LGBTQ+ community. 

Alejandro Postigo, a performer and storyteller, deconstructs traditional Spanish coplas, infusing them with new meaning and context, relevant to queer collectives. 

Embodying his alter-ego, La Gitana, Postigo invites audiences into an intimate and immersive space filled with live music, personal anecdotes and more, initiating a safe place for reflection. 

Celebrating the inersectionality of queer and migrant identities, Copla: A Spanish Cabaret displays the power of art as a form of resistance.
