Motorpoint Arena Nottingham
History of the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham
We are the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, formerly known as the Nottingham Arena, an exceptional entertainment venue located in the heart of Nottingham's city center. Constructed between 1998 and 2000 as an integral part of the National Ice Centre complex, we have grown into a significant cultural icon and a central hub for live entertainment in the East Midlands, drawing visitors not only from the local region but also from around the world.
Our venue proudly hosts some of the biggest names in music, comedy, and sports, offering a spacious capacity of over 10,000, making us one of the most versatile and dynamic entertainment facilities in the United Kingdom.
Originally opening as Nottingham Arena in 2000, our name underwent several changes over the years. In 2007, we adopted the name Trent FM Arena through a partnership with Trent FM. Subsequently, in 2011, following Trent FM's acquisition by Global Radio, our venue was renamed the Capital FM Arena. Finally, in January 2016, with a change in our naming partner, we became known as the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham.
