Lyric Theatre
Watch world-famous performances in the oldest theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue
Head to The Lyric Theatre, located in London's iconic West End, and marvel at the beautiful art deco design which was created during its 1932 renovation. The building was marked grade II listed in 1960, and it oozes history throughout. In fact, the theatre still uses an electric pump to operate the venue's remarkable iron curtains.
Nearby, there are plenty of options to enjoy a tasty meal to start your evening off the right way.
Let the show begin
Head into the box office and feel the excitement build. We recommend getting there early so you can grab a drink before the show. Take a seat and look at the beautiful art deco finishes and glistening chandeliers hanging down above you.
With a capacity of 915, this theatre has the right mix of an intimate setting with a great atmosphere. The lights dim, the soothing sounds of the orchestra begin to fill the room and the curtains begin to rise. You're most definitely in for a treat.

Until August, you can catch the legendary Six at the Lyric Theatre.

Shows you may have seen
There's a chance you've visited the theatre before. Did you know that so many famous stars have trodden the boards? Marie Tempest, Laurence Olivier, Ian McKellen and John Malkovich - to name a few! - have all performed on this very stage.
Known for showcasing spectacular musicals, plays, and concerts, there's also been plenty for little ones to enjoy too. Or maybe they still talk about seeing Room on the Broom Live at the Lyric.
