Lincolnshire Wildlife Park is one of the UK’s largest animal sanctuaries. Their furry (and some not so furry) residents come from all walks of life and from all over the world.
Here's a sneak peak of the animals your family and friends will meet…
Highlights of Lincolnshire Wildlife Park:
- Lincolnshire Wildlife Park is well-known for its National Parrot Sanctuary. The team here do an incredible job and have over 1,000 parrots and parakeets to look after – over a third of the UK’s parrots live here.
- Listen to the wonderful sounds of the rainforest, spanning from Australia, to Africa, to the Americas and hear the colourful language that comes with these amazing birds. Can humans detect changes in language and bird dialect, we wonder?
- Feel like you’ve taken the family on an African safari when you meet the lions. Or that you’re crossing the tropical wilderness of India when you come face-to-face with the Bengal tigers.
- Meet the caiman as you make your way through the park. He’s got a pretty amazing home with his very own pond, a beach, and it’s kept nice and warm for him there too. He’s a very relaxed, docile caiman, so will often lay and bask under the lamp or sit underneath the waterfall for a massage.
- Lots of the reptiles and amphibians can be found in the Rainforest Diner in their lovely display homes. A pretty good time to let the little ones crack on with their new friendships and give the grownups five!
What a family day out in Lincolnshire!
Reflect on your incredible visit to one of Lincolnshire’s best attractions when you stop for a bite to eat at the Rainforest Diner. There’s lots of choice so no need to worry, there’ll be something to gobble down for even the fussiest of eaters.
Or maybe you’ve spent all your hours exploring and now it’s time to jump in the car and make your way home. We wonder who’ll be the first one to fall asleep…
