The River Soar winds its way through the East Midlands, passing through the serene Leicestershire countryside for over 50 miles.

Miles of endearing, breathtaking nature surround the river, giving rise to possibilities of adventure to those who seek it.

Where it all started

Luckily for everyone, Anthony Ball, owner of Let’s Get Lost, came to the same conclusion in 2014. Since then, he and his team have been offering people the chance to experience the fulfilment of an adventure in the outdoors.

From single to double kayaks, paddleboarding to camping under the stars – what will your experience look like?

If you’ve never been near a paddleboard or kayak before, the Taster Paddle experience is ideal to help you build up some confidence on the water.

It’s also perfect to bring the little ones along to. With it being an hour long, they’ll be able to enjoy being out on the water without getting overtired.

Then, once you’re feeling like you could take things a little further, there are a few options to entice you.

Time to hit the water

Decide whether your vehicle of choice is going to be a paddleboard or kayak and then, on the Explorer experience, you’ll have two hours of adventuring on your hands.

There’s something indescribably peaceful about gently meandering your way along a river, drifting through the countryside. Everything takes on a peaceful pace.

Trees, fields, and houses pass by like the clouds drifting above – bringing with them a calmness that we could all do with from time to time.

Fancy escaping for a little longer? On the Kayak and Camp experience, after spending the day on the river, you’ll get to pull up at Let’s Get Lost’s secluded campsite.

When the sun goes down, the stars come out. After a BBQ feast, save some time to lie back and spend some time stargazing.

Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the river and wildlife surrounding you, before making your way back to base.

Choose your way

You get the option with all the experiences (except the Taster Paddle) to choose between a guided or self-guided trip.

With a guide keeping you company, you can let the world go by as you concentrate on little else other than your surroundings. But if you fancy navigating the way or heading out with just a group of friends and family – the self-guided tours sound like the ones for you.

Either way, and whatever experience you choose, expect an outdoor adventure you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
