The perfect way to meet alpacas!
Get up close and personal with the herd of six female and three male alpacas for 60 minutes. This experience gives you the opportunity to learn all about these fascinating and unique animals, get hands on time with them and enjoy feeding them.
You'll love the rustic, authentic and beautiful setting of Mad House Farm, where you can enjoy the peace, the quiet and the amazing views while you hang out with the herd.
Make friends with alpacas on this family day out in Shropshire
When you arrive at the farm, the staff will talk you through the important health and safety practices so you're all set up to have an enjoyable and safe experience. Next, they'll introduce you to the alpacas and tell you a bit about them. Then, you can give food for the Alpacas and they'll be let out of their pen to interact with you.
You will then have plenty of time to bond with the alpacas, feed them and take photographs with them. During your experience, the staff will be more than happy to answer any questions you have about the alpacas.

- Free parking
- This is an all-weather attraction, there is a small marquee which offers some protection on rainy days, however don't forget to bring weather appropriate clothing and footwear!
- The tracks are not smoothly tarmacked and may be uneven or muddy.
- As a result, the walking experiences are unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users or pushchairs.
- The Paca Picnic however, is suitable for a wider range of people.
- Alpacas are calm, reserved and friendly social creatures.
- However, they are still wild animals at heart and can sometimes be unpredictable.
- Prior to the experience, you will be briefed on health safety to further minimise the risks of accidents.
- If you have underlying health conditions then it is your responsibility to assess whether you are fit to undertake the experience.
Although alpacas are clean animals, we would strongly advise washing hands prior to eating food and leaving the site.
- Alpacas only tend to spit at other alpacas, usually an uninterested female towards a pushy male or both genders towards members of the herd that try to pinch their food.
- It is very unlikely that an alpaca will spit at a human unprovoked!
