Just outside of Brigstock, a lovely little village near the town of Corby, is a gorgeous country park containing a large wood full of wildlife to discover.

Covering 15 acres of land, Fermyn Woods is a great place to bring the family for some fun or visit by yourself for a quiet day out in nature.

Walks and wildlife

Starting from the visitor centre, you’ll have a couple of options for walking trails.

You could do the forest trail which will take you around some of the historic woodland for about two miles.

Or maybe the woodland walk, which offers a shorter but slightly steeper walk with opportunities to sit and watch for wildlife.

Speaking of wildlife, keep your eyes peeled for all kinds of amazing animals. Fermyn Woods is home to squirrels, deer, and even red kites!

If you go to one of the fishing spots, you might even catch one of the many species of fish like carp or roach that live in the ponds here.

Near the fishing pond, there’s a great viewpoint that will give you gorgeous views around Brigstock.
