The Eventim Apollo, also known as the Hammersmith Apollo or the Hammersmith Odeon, is one of the UK’s best known, largest, and well-preserved theatres.

Seating 3,655 people at full capacity, it is a colossal and beautiful building in the bustling Hammersmith area of London which has hosted legendary musicians, countless comedians, and even movie premieres.

An impressive building with an impressive history

The Eventim Apollo first opened its doors in 1932, and immediately became the talk of the town thanks to its memorable architecture, courtesy of Robert Cromie who designed many of England’s other most striking theatres.

You too will be immediately struck by the building’s grand appearance when you see the stone pillars that loom above its doors, as if the theatre was chiselled into existence from the ruins of some ancient Roman temple.

The theatre's original Compton pipe organ is also still present in the theatre today.

This charming piece of history provided music for many shows until it tragically fell into disrepair after many years.

A new lease of life

But, in 2007, the organ was restored back to a playable condition, so if you're lucky you may get to hear its grand pipes singing once again!

When you take your seat in the theatre, you'll feel the electrifying anticipation of knowing you're sitting in a space that has been shared with many of the world’s most famous musical stars.

Since opening its doors, the Eventim Apollo has staged the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Marley, and still attracts many celebrated musicians today.

More recently, the theatre has hosted Ed Sheeran, Green Day, and Kendrick Lamar.

Few other theatres in the UK can boast of having a history as star-studded as the Eventim Apollo.

The theatre sells alcohol, soft drinks, and snacks, and there are many hotels and restaurants nearby.

Getting there is no problem either, since the theatre is easily accessible by tube, bus or taxi, and the nearby Kings Mall car park is open 24 hours a day.
