With the Solent on one side and the New Forest on the other, the port town of Lymington on the coast of Hampshire is surrounded by some of the UK’s finest natural beauty.

And although your adventure with Escape Yachting begins in town, it’s not long until you’re hopping on board and setting sail.

Your sea legs ready?

If you’re heading out on the shared sail with lunch or dinner, you have the option to pick between a morning or afternoon departure.

Whichever you decide on, some things come as a guarantee. As soon as you step foot on the yacht, you’ll be met with a fizzing glass of English sparkling wine and a crew excited to meet you.

Then, with the anchor drawn up and the lapping water inviting you into deeper waters, it’s time to begin the adventure!

With a highly experienced skipper at the helm, you can start your trip on the Solent sitting back, wine glass in hand, relaxing.

Watch the land on both sides of you slip by; how the yacht cuts through the water and sends out small waves, only seconds later for them to be absorbed below the surface once again.

Got your sailor’s cap ready?

After a while of sitting back and enjoying the views, how about shaking things up a little and having a try at sailing yourself?

You can get involved as much as you’d like, just speak with the skipper to see what you can do. From then on, it won’t be long until you’re singing sea shanties along with the crew!

That decision is totally up to you though. If you’re happy watching the world go by and relaxing with a glass of wine, there’s no need to budge an inch whatsoever.

A feast to tuck into

Once a few hours of sailing pass by and you arrive near the Isle of Wight, it’s time for some food!

Whether you’re having lunch or dinner, you’ll be served a two-course meal that’s been freshly prepared on board.

And the best bit about it all? No washing up! So as soon as you’ve finished your meal, you can sit back and admire the views some more, perhaps even go for a quick dip if the mood’s right.

Your whole trip with Escape Yachting is perfectly summed up by just that word: escape. The moment you step onboard and leave land behind, your day of relaxation begins.

How to get here

Lymington Yacht Haven, King’s Saltern Road, Lymington, SO41 3QD

Car

Driving through the New Forest can take a lot longer than your sat-nav or Google Maps
expects, mainly because of bottle-necks at Lyndhurst, so please allow sufficient time.

Leaving the M27 at junction 2 and driving via Beaulieu can be quicker - particularly at weekends.

As you enter Lymington, follow the brown signs to ‘Riverside Marinas’. Lymington Yacht
Haven is down a narrow lane, King’s Saltern Road, near to the Mayflower Pub. Some satnavs direct you to the Lifeboat Station car park. If you find yourself there, drive back out
of the car park, turn left into King’s Saltern Road and bear left, down the narrow lane, just
past the Mayflower Pub. You will come to the Lymington Yacht Haven entrance on the
left.

Drive up to the barrier and it will open. There is plenty of free parking
