  • Wheelchair accessible

Crumlin Road Gaol is 170 years old and contains a number of old buildings and structures. However, most of the site is accessible for wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties. The one area which is not accessible is the Tunnel, we have however installed a video outside the tunnel so show visitors what is beyond the steps.

C-Wing can be accessed using the lift (located in the basement), please use the assistance call point located beside the last drop in, to alert a member of staff, they will guide you to the lift and unlock the door for you in the Governors Corridor. Once in C-Wing there are no additional stairs / steps, however due to the design of the cells, only narrow manual wheelchairs can enter, cell doors are approx. 58cm wide.

Crumlin Road Gaol has 2 manual wheelchairs which are located at the Gaol Entrance. It is advisable to reserve these in advance of arriving.
