Enjoy a half-hour cruise along Chester's beautiful River Dee when you hop onboard this scenic city sightseeing journey!
Start your journey at The Groves in Chester, which is just a short walk from the city centre and in close proximity to the historic city walls and Roman amphitheatre.
The cruise begins at the moorings and heads upstream, passing under Queen's Park Suspension Bridge, the Boathouse Inn, and Grosvenor Park, before making its way through the picturesque suburb of Boughton. As the journey continues along the sweeping bend of the Meadows, you can admire the stunning riverside homes and gardens and learn about the rich history of the River Dee and its surroundings.
The boat then makes a turn at the city limits and heads downstream towards Chester. Lucky passengers may spot local wildlife such as swans, moorhens, and kingfishers. The onboard bar is fully stocked, providing you with a hot or cold drink as you relax and take in the breathtaking scenery.
Please note you don't need to choose a sailing time. The boat trip does not take reservations for specific sailing times, so your ticket will be valid for any single sailing for your chosen day. Please allow more time for your visit during busier periods, eg. school holidays.
